[...] Finally, regardless of the long-term outcome, what I like most about Warner Brothers bringing their films to this new platform reflects something I often share with clients: it's best to extend your message beyond any particular platform. In order to meet the needs of today's segmented audiences, it is important to offer multiple opportunities & distribution avenues with your message. In that regard, whether iTunes or Facebook battle it out, this is a brilliant move for the studio in adopting a strategy that makes the purchasing of their content platform agnostic.
Reading this post reminded me of a show I'm very excited for coming out of WNET/PBS . . . they are going to do on-line and crowdsourcing to develop content for the news program, will post drafts of segments and raw footage, etc. and will allow users to comment and help "develop" the show throughout the week before it runs in its final form on "traditional" TV at the end of the week. Sorta' brilliant. VERY integrated approach. The whole article is in the recent Broadcasting & Cable but you can read a snippet at . . .

Alot of bloggers are not too happy with this new iPad.There was just too much hoopla regarding it and lots of blogers got turned off.Thing is, I actually see lots of the cool potential of this device. Third-party apps for composing music, games, newsprints and magazine and books, all kinds of awesome stuff, but IMHO they just didn't really sell it very well (aside from the books). It looks kinda not finished

[...] Yes, I do advocate as I did recently on this blog that you make your message Platform Agnostic, but I do not think that in doing so you should let the technology get in the way of your goal of telling your story. Instead, I think you need to tell your story and use technology to accentuate your message and broaden its reach. Of course, in some situations the technology can improve how you tell your story, enriching the experience for the audience and make the story come to life or bring a level of interactivity, but it shouldn’t entirely dictate or transform how you communicate.
I caught up with this after reading your e-mail that outlines video and podcasting. I would be interested in learning more.

Also thanks for the blog tip about Charlie Rose. I share the same interest and difficulty catching the program.

Best regards,
John Mallen

I've watched the voicemail clips, and so far they're showing a lot of promise. I even found a myspace page for the show.
